Anvers Wine
Pinot Gris Gewurztraminer
The Anvers Pinot Gris/Gewurztraminer is an exciting new wine in the Anvers range. The grapes were grown in our Razorback Road vineyard in the cool southern Adelaide Hills wine region.
This is the first crop from our vineyard of both the Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer varieties. These varieties grow together in the cool northern France region of Alsace, and are as such very well suited to the cool Adelaide Hills region.
The grapes of both varieties were hand picked in the cool of the morning, and very gently whole bunch pressed together in an airbag press. The juice was cold settled overnight, and then racked to fermentation with light, fluffy lees included.
Following a long cool fermentation to retain freshness and fruit characters the wine was racked and matured on light yeast lees in tank for 2 months prior to bottling. The final blend is 77% Pinot Gris and 23% Gewurztraminer.
